I know everyone has the same response, but I am in complete shock, and do not know where to start. Wow!!! My journey started 2 years ago when I first went to this crazy place that everyone talked about! I had neighbors, friends, and even my hairdresser tell me how great it was. I had already gone through losing over 50 pounds a couple years back. I really didn't want to start over after it all came back while my husband was on his first deployment to Iraq. We lived in a small town in Louisiana where fitness was no ones interest. I no longer had my support and workout buddies , I had 2 small girls, they where the one thing keeping me going everyday. I turned to what I knew.... Fast food and wine! When my husband returned he looked great!!! He went full paleo while he was gone and all he had time to do was workout when he wasn't working. He tried his hardest to get me to do it with him, and I thought he lost his mind. There was no way I was going to change the way I cooked! I need butter, cheese, BREAD, and my glass of wine after the kids went to bed.
By the time we moved to San Antonio I was close to being back up to 200 lbs,. I was sick of being tired and always having my joints hurt. I wanted to be active and not just sit and watch everyone around me do everything. I will always remember my first day. I was so nervous, when Nella, Tina and I started to warm up, we looked at each other you could see the fear in all of our eyes. We had to run that day, I couldn't even make it to the bridge. I didn't know if I ever was going to make it back after that day, but I did, I was going on a pretty regular basis, I could see the difference and loved it! But I slowly faded, I went less and less. Summer came and once again I had to take care of the girls, I never came first. I was scared on how my oldest would handle being there. She has ADHD and was not one to sit and wait. Then I slowly realized that I was using them as excuse. I had gotten out of my rhythm.
It wasn't till January 2014 when I saw pictures of New Years Eve. There I was again, Back at 185 lbs! I knew I had to go back. Then I heard the great news ABC was moving closer, and they had a new class level! I was not going to have my husband come home from his second deployment being that big again. It was calling my name! This time no turning back! No Quitting again!
When I walked in those doors this time it felt different. Everyone there were so supportive, I could feel my confidence building!! I loved it! I even started to love running!!! Me the girl who couldn't run to the bridge that first class!! The girl who wouldn't go to Bootcamp because there was running in the WOD!! I decided in June that I was going to run my first half marathon, and I did it! I JUST DIDNT FINISH IT, I rocked it! Without these great people surrounding me when I walk though those doors I wouldn't be the person I have become! I love showing my girls that strong and healthy is the best thing for them! Y’all have made this year one of my best and cannot thank you enough for all of those extra pushes you have given me! Heather
